How to make and place location marker on maps?
Q. On my map I want to use bulb shaped location markers (as I see on many maps in the net) for presentation ppt. How can I make or find location markers and place them on desired locations of my map?

A. download google earth. then it has a little marker feature when you can insert coordinates or city names, then you can choose many marker colours, and marker designs. really easy to use. then do a screen capture and put it on your powerpoint presentation. easy.

How to specify the location of thermal expansion joints in pipes?
Q. Any metal will expand due to temperature chang, for straight pipes expansion joints to be added, how to specify location ?

A. The expansion joints are usually located in a straight run of piping, with supported pipe guides or anchors located on the piping, but near each end of the expansion joint to guide and support the piping. The distances between guides, supports and anchors depends upon the amount of expansion that the the pipe will be subjected to, and the capacityof the expansion joint in either tension or compression. How do I detect the location of a leak?
Q. I have a leak in an underground sprinkler pipe. It's only in one station and the only evidence is that when that particular station turns on there is an incredible drop in pressure. This station has sprinklers running along the perimeter of our property. I cannot find any other visible evidence of this leak, only the drop in pressure. Other than digging up all the way along this station I can't think of any other way to detect the location of the leak. Any ideas? I've already checked all the sprinkler heads on this station and also replaced the valve recently. Thanks.

A. get a mechanics stethascope from your local auto store and stick it in the ground along the section...closer you get to the leak the louder the hiss will be...just some ideas...where a swimsuit as you'll need the zone active to hear the leak...if you can cap off the heads temp ..you can also pressurize the line and make it easier..just depends how much work your willing to do to find the leak...with out diggin up the whole zone... cheers
