How many of you think tejano music is horrible, stupid, and obnoxious.?
Q. Every time a tejano song song comes out i get so embaraced. It so sounds like a total rip off of real Mexican music. and by the way Its spelled Texas is spelled with an "X" not a "J" Reply: Well Te"J"ano music is still Pathetic its the same old boring sad lyrics.. why cant they change it a bit it gets on my nerves. people that listen to that have no good taste in music. Adventure man your a dum dum if texas used to be called Tejas when it was filled with Hispanic influence then why the heck is Mexico spelled with a "X" and why is Oaxaca like that as well as hundreds and thousands of words or places in Mexico. and sorry for posting this on the wrong place i made my point

A. Hate to burst your bubble, Friend, but Texas used to be spelled with a "J" back when it was still a republic with significant Hispanic influence. Culturally and historically, there are still many current applications using the word "Tejano" that are not only accurate, but socially acceptable too. Maybe after a few cold ones, your ear will pick up those aspects of Tejano that others enjoy? For some its an acquired taste, but make no mistake...its foundation is firmly grounded in legitimate culture and history. Vaya en Paz!
