How do you become a fighter pilot in the USAF?
Q. Ive always wondered this. Do you just sign up for the airforce and you get randomly selected to be a pilot? Do you have to have a certain intelligence level. Can you request to become a pilot? How does this work. By the way I know this probably disqualifies me from being a USAF fighter pilot but I have a birth defected hand. The fingers are about half an inch shorter. I can still do everything I could do normally with a normal hand. Could I still get a regular pilots license?

A. First, you have to get a college degree and graduate near the top of your class (top 10%), preferably in one of the sciences such as engineering, mathematics or physics. You cannot become a commisioned officer without a degree, and nearly all pilots, except some in the Army, are regular officers. You also need to be physically very athletic. Your birth defect should not be much of a problem, but I'd do some research to find out for sure. Ideally, going to one of the military academies means getting a more or less free education, but they only select from the best of the best as far as high school students are concerned. how do i start training to become a MMA fighter and hopefully UFC?
Q. Im 16 turning 17 soon, i want to become a mma fighter. im willing to do w.e ever it takes.. i live in FL Im about 5'10 105 punds mabey but all muscel arms are long what do i have to do to become a MMA fighter and then to go on to the UFC, ill do w.e.. plz help me thanks.

What are the advantages of a single engine fighter aircraft such as the f-16 oppose to a twin engine aircraft?
Q. Wouldn't 2 engines be faster and safer? Also if the f-16 can go around 1300mph why not put 2 of those engines on an aircraft? Could that push it up towards mach 3? Are speeds that high not really effective in a fighter?

A. Advantage of single engine over twin is simplicity and lower cost. Also, a bit of efficiency, as one large engine is usually more efficient that two engines of exactly half the power, all other things being equal. This has nothing to do with speed. For supersonic flight, the most important aspect is aerodynamics related, essentially in the presence of a suitable engine air inlet (most of the thrust in a supersonic aircraft comes from the inlet, the engines is essentially a pump to relieve the internal pressure. This may sound weird, but that is the way it is).
