An economy consists of the economic system of a country or other area, the labor, capital and land resources, and the economic agents that socially participate in the production, exchange, distribution, and consumption of goods and services of that area. A given economy is the end result of a process that involves its technological evolution, history and social organization, as well as its geography, natural resource endowment, and ecology, as main factors. These factors give context, content, and set the conditions and parameters in which an economy functions. Today the range of fields of study examining the economy include social sciences such as economics, sociology (economic sociology), history (economic history) and geography (economic geography). Practical fields directly related to the human activities involving production, distribution, exchange, and consumption of goods and services as a whole, range from engineering to management and business administration to applied science to finance. All kind of professions, occupations, economic agents or economic activities, contribute to the economy. Consumption, saving and investment are core variable components in the economy and determine market equilibrium. There are three main sectors of economic activity: primary, secondary and tertiary. GNU Free Documentation License How have the fundamentals of the economy improved since the presidential election? Q. During the presidential campaign, Obama said McCain was out of touch for saying the fundamentals of the economy were strong. When Obama was pushing the spending program he said the economy was in bad shape and would fail if we didn't pass the bill. Now he says the economy isn't as bad as some people say and the fundamentals of the economy are strong. Is he saying that the fundamentals of the economy have improved because he passed the bill or is there something else I'm missing? Asked by Tommy - Mon Mar 16 17:09:05 2009 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments A. 1. The bill is needed to stimulate consumption, and the one of the right object to spend the government money is fundamental fields. 2. Emphasis on strong fundamentals of the economy is encouraging investors and consumers to invest and consume more. This is a very hard question to answer for me because I'm not sure if I should write additional explanations in economics. And, If yes, on how degree. For example, government spending can off-set economic leakages. It's over 11 pm. It's time for me to go to sleep. :( Answered by fromeasternworld - Tue Mar 17 23:14:28 2009 What would happen to the economy if everyone was a millionaire? Q. I've had this thought in my mind for a while now. I would like to hear your opinions. --What would happen to the economy if everyone was a millionaire? -Would it be good or bad for the economy? Asked by EF - Tue Dec 18 19:54:52 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well it depends how everyone is a millionarie. If everyone just magically had a lot of money that they received from somewher, I would guess that that would cause an inflation spiral as consumer demand would skyrocket with more money chasing the same amount of goods. But if it were because we all became educated and skilled and wer all earning that maount, it would be good. We would produce more and consume more. The reason why everyone would be able to make that much would be because everyone is that productive. Think about it goign back in history. Compared to a couple thousand years ago, we are all millionares in relative standard of living. The average middle class American in many ways lives a higher standard of living then nobility… [cont.] Answered by tv - Tue Dec 18 20:11:16 2007 What is the economy like for current and incoming flight attendants?
