From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Cattle (colloquially cows) are the most common type of large domesticated ungulates. They are a prominent modern member of the subfamily Bovinae, are the most widespread species of the genus Bos, and are most commonly classified collectively as Bos primigenius. Cattle are raised as livestock for meat (beef and veal), as dairy animals for milk and other dairy products, and as draft animals (pulling carts, plows and the like). Other products include leather and dung for manure or fuel. In some countries, such as India, cattle are sacred. It is estimated that there are 1.3 billion cattle in the world today. In 2009, cattle became the first livestock animal to have its genome mapped. From Wikipedia under the

How well do australian cattle dogs get along with other dogs. Asked by k_rule17 - Thu Dec 17 18:08:44 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. Not a breed I would bring home without doing tons of research first, but the deed is done, so never too late to start! ACDs in general do not tolerate other dogs well. They can be very dominant, and also very aggressive, to other dogs in the household, and should NOT be unsupervised with other dogs. As another poster mentioned, I hope you have a job already lined up for this dog to do, and a good obedience class picked out. A bored and frustrated ACD is a dangerous dog. Our dog is a cattle dog mix (don't know the father, but our guess is he was a German shepherd/Huskie) is great with people and other dogs when she is outside. But when she is in our apartment, she is very protective/territorial and is dangerous towards our guests. She gets along well with our neighbors when they come over, but people she does not know as well, she gets aggressive. We do not want to give her up, but she has got to do better with guests. Ideas?? I have a female Border Collie/ACD mix, and she also went through a phase of aggression towards visitors. She would plant herself by my legs and growl at anyone who got close, and jab them in the calf with her nose if they walked by. What I've found with my dog is that she is very sensitive to how I'm feeling. If I'm stressed or exhausted or not feeling well, she acts aggressively towards outsiders because she thinks I need to be protected. Once I understood this, I took charge and put myself in a stronger leadership role, which has helped a lot. Your dog will probably never run up to strangers begging for attention, but being firm with her and… [cont.] Answered by Elizabeth - Wed Jul 30 23:25:25 2008 What Climbing plants should I grow on a fence that separates our cattle pasture from our backyard?
Q. Obviously, whatever I plant cannot be poisonous to the cattle! I'd like something that they won't eat, or at least will mostly not eat. I could use blackberry vines, but I'd really like something pretty and fairly low maintenance. I live in the Sacramento Valley - very hot and dry summers, mild, wet winters. Maybe both together would be really pretty and I love the fragrance. Yellow Jasmine is more drought tolerant.
