Who is the audience of Tejano music? What is the popularity (#) of Tejano music?
Q. I have to do a research project for school except I can't find any hard evidence for the questions I posted. Most websites have exactly what wikipedia has. I basically need to find out: the audience, the popularity (statistical info), and what kind of emotions Tejano music envokes? I've searched 3 search engines and looked at 10 pages of links on each one. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

A. Tejano music is originally from Texas. It's also known as tex-mex music. The majority of tejano music audience are Mexican-Americans. All the hard evidence is on Wikipedia. I like going in on Wikipedia because it's very accurate and I just skimmed through the page and found tons of real facts. I hope that helps and much luck!

Q. Before you go and say go to the Mexico sight of Yahoo, Tejano music originated in Texas and is a blend of Tex-Mex music making it American. The artists sing in spanish and english...I was just wondering how many people in here would like to have a category for Tejano music where we could all talk about our favorite tejano musicians.?

A. When I have trouble finding tejano music from the past I go to Janies record shop, she is based out of San Antonio and has about everything tejano musicians have put out. She has a way of finding that lost cd. I am posting her link below and you will find a number where you can either call or email her. I hope this helps.. But in general and in my POV... Tejano - Laura Canales. She is the one who paved the road for female artists like Elsa, Selena, Linda Escobar, Shelly, Elida and Stefani. Many believe it was Selena that paved the way for Tejano female musicians but it was actually Laura. May she rest in peace... Tejano - Ruben Ramos - El Gato Negro, of course. The man was Tejano when it wasn't even called Tejano. His style, class and personality is who most Tejano artist strive to be. Even in a "new world" of Tejano, he is still the class act.
