From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Spain (pronounced /ˈspeɪn/ ( listen) spayn; Spanish: España, pronounced [esˈpaɲa] ( listen)), officially the Kingdom of Spain (Spanish: Reino de España), is a country and member state of the European Union located in southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula. Its mainland is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar; to the north by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the northwest and west by the Atlantic Ocean and Portugal. Spanish territory also includes the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the African coast, and two autonomous cities in North Africa, Ceuta and Melilla, that border Morocco. Furthermore, the town of Llívia is a Spanish exclave situated inside French territory. With an area of 504,030 km², it is the second largest country in Western Europe and the European Union after France. Because of its location, the territory of Spain was subject to many external influences since prehistoric times and through to its dawn as a country. Conversely, it has been an important source of influence to other regions, chiefly during the Modern Era, when it became a global empire that has left a legacy of over 400 million Spanish speakers today, making it the world's second most spoken first language. Spain is a democracy organised in the form of a parliamentary government under a constitutional monarchy. It is a developed country with the ninth largest economy in the world by nominal GDP, and very high living standards (15th highest Human Development Index), including the tenth-highest quality of life index rating in the world, as of 2005. It is a member of the United Nations, European Union, NATO, OECD, and WTO. From Wikipedia under the

Yes, the Swiss type C residence permit waives the visa requirement to the other Schengen countries; same applies to a visa issued by Switzerland if it is a type C visa and it states valid for "Schengen States" in the first column. Hi I am a gay man from the United States and I have recently gotten married to my husband who is citizen of Spain. We want me to be able to move to Spain with him right away but do not what to do to be able to get me residence in Spain. What would we have to do now so I can legally move to Spain? Asked by unknown - Mon Jul 12 18:08:12 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. The fact that you are gay should make no difference - Spain is forward thinking country when it comes to equal rights, so I 'believe' that you would be covered by making an application under the ' Tarjecta de residencia de familiar de ciudadano de la Union ', which is covered on an EX16 form - this is basicaly an application for family members of an exsisting Spanish resident. There is a further explanation and copy of the form on the link attached (note: the article is for EU residents, which applies to you via your husband ) - Answered by unknown - Mon Jul 12 20:46:47 2010 Is the Bachillerato in Spain a state run schooling system?
Q. I'm interested in an participating in an exchange program during the first semester of my senior year. I did some research on the education system in Spain and Grade 12 in America is equivalent to the second year of a Bachillerato program in Spain. The information I have gotten is kind of ambiguous, and I can't determine whether or not the Bachillerato is a state run system. If it is, does this mean that it's free, or does it have a tuition? How much would it generally be? Thank you. Asked by Kevin - Mon Dec 28 12:52:34 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A.
