It was the 45th state admitted to the Union on January 4, 1896. Approximately 80 percent of Utah's 2,736,424 people live along the Wasatch Front, centering around Salt Lake City. In contrast, vast expanses of the state are nearly uninhabited, making the population the sixth most urbanized in the U.S. The name "Utah" is derived from the Ute Indian language, meaning "people of the mountains." Utah is known for being one of the most religiously homogeneous states in the Union. Between 58 percent and 72 percent of Utahns are reported to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the LDS Church or Mormon Church), which greatly influences Utah culture and daily life. The state is a center of transportation, information technology and research, government services and mining as well as a major tourist destination for outdoor recreation. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's population estimates, Utah was the fastest growing state in the United States as of 2008. St. George, Utah was the fastest growing metropolitan area in the United States from 2000–2005. HistoryThis section requires expansion. Main article: History of UtahFrom Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License Is it a violation of Utah building code to have plugs fall out of the wall recepticals? Q. I'm about to have a house inspected and the electrical outlets will not hold 2 prong plugs only 3 prong is this agains the electrical or building code in utah. If this is in an apartment complex and I'm a renter is this a issue that could deem it "inhabitiable". and if so is it worth getting an inspector. Asked by demolay2masonry - Tue Oct 7 23:18:03 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. I don't know about it being against the electrical code, but it isn't safe to use worn out outlets. If you are buying the house, have a licensed home inspector check out the house, they are worth every penney. They will likely find things wrong with the house you would never notice. Make sure the inspector is a member of ASHI. When you talk to the inspector, mention the outlets. Anything that is on the inspectors report is a negotiation point when you go to sign the contract. You can either get the seller to make the repairs, or negotiate a better price based on needed repairs. Better bring some dynamite if you have kaliche deposits, which you probably will. Otherwise sand, rocks and gravel and not much different from the neighboring states. But the kaliche, a native clay, is like granite when it's dry. Answered by Chas - Thu May 15 08:08:43 2008 Where can I find a Utah K-1 equivalent online for an LLC?
Q. Cannot seem to find it on the Utah tax website. 10 points to anyone who can provide a link! Did not understand the first responder. Anybody else? Asked by genealogist84 - Sun Apr 5 16:42:36 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Dear G: Look at www.irs.gov and the instructions for forms 1065 and K1. The LLC files form 1065 for the corp. and then must file a K1 (federal form) for each partner. The partners personal return will report the K1 and thus the money will eventually get to Utah. I am not aware of any state requirement that super cedes the federal K1 reporting. This advice was prepared based on our understanding of the tax law in effect at the time it was written as it applies to the facts that you provided. Click on my profile to read more.
