From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. New Jersey ( /nuːˈdʒɝːzi/ (help·info)) is a state in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north by New York, and to its east the Hudson River, Sandy Hook Bay, Long Island and the Atlantic Ocean. Delaware borders New Jersey only on the southwestern side and Pennsylvania lies to the west of New Jersey. New Jersey lies largely within the sprawling metropolitan areas of New York and Philadelphia. Inhabited by Native Americans for more than 2,800 years, the first European settlements in the area were established by the Swedes and Dutch in the early 1600s. The English later seized control of the region, naming it the Province of New Jersey, which was granted to Sir George Carteret and John Berkeley, 1st Baron Berkeley of Stratton as a colony. At this time, the name was taken from the largest of the British Channel Islands, Jersey. New Jersey was the site of several decisive battles during the American Revolutionary War. In the 19th century, factories in cities such as Paterson and Trenton helped to drive the Industrial Revolution. New Jersey's position at the center of the Northeast Corridor, between Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., fueled its rapid growth through the suburban boom of the 1950s and beyond. Today, New Jersey has the highest population density and the second highest median income of any state in the United States. Only Maryland has a higher median income. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License Banckrupt company in New Jersey owes me in California vacation pay. Do I have any rights to being paid? Q. I worked in California for a company that was headquartered in New Jersey. They declared bankruptcy but they still owe me for 5 weeks of vacation. From my understanding, California treats vacation just like salary. Am I entitled to any of the finances that the company might still have, and if so, would I be placed at the top of the list for receipt? Basically it costs a decent amount of money (30,000) and I wish to attempt to sell tickets for a raffle which would allow the winner to then own the car and I would keep the raffle money. Im not sure if that is legal in the state of New Jersey, so I wanted to see if anyone knew if this was possible. Thanks for your help. Q. I am interested in opening up a exotic/erotic pleasures store in new jersey, specifically northern new jersey. Asked by keesha - Mon Oct 20 10:12:05 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Many NJ towns have strict zoning requirements for adult oriented businesses. I can give you a run down of the general requirements for opening a traditional business in NJ but because of the adult nature of your business your first concern should be zoning. Don't be fooled into thinking just because other adult oriented businesses are in an area that they are permitted use. It is possible that they were grandfathered in and new zoning would strict new adult oriented businesses. Some towns have made it almost impossible to open an adult Business due to restrictive zoning. While some of these laws may be illegal you will need a substantial legal budget to contest them in court.
