How can kids/teens get involved to help against climate change?
Q. I am a teen and I am very aware of climate change. I have set up programs at school, made signs and posters, talked to many people about it etc., but anyother ideas or programs?

A. Because it sounds like you are really trying to reach out and educate others, why not invent a board game - like monopoly, call it something like "The race for Climate Stability." From there, you will have to do a little research on how to market and sell your game. Another thing you can do is write articles and submit them to your local civic association for publication in their newsletter. It can include simple things that everyone can do to make a difference (e.g. not bagging their leaves but mulching them instead) or explaining exactly what things should or should not go in the recycle bin, etc. Your question is breath of fresh air. I am so glad to hear when the younger generation gets actively involved in this issue.

What outdoor recreational equipment is best to buy for kids/teens?
Q. We live in a very rural area where city parks or playgrounds, skating rinks or public pools are really at a minimum, and have an older young-adult son who as a teenager got into some trouble here, but the new family plan to prevent this with the current teenager is this: if we have "cool stuff" for our son and his friends to do HERE, and this is the "hang out", we'll know where our kid is, who he is with and what he is doing AND we'll provide him with fun things to do so he isn't bored and likely to get into trouble. We've considered a small pool as we all love swimming, he wants to save his own money and buy a hot tub (as well as the wiring to power it - thoughtful young man!), I thought maybe a trampoline and he isn't especially fond of… [cont.]

A. A pool would be very expensive. If you want something you can set up straight away you could go for a Basketball hoop. A fort is probably a bit childish, but you could get him involved in building one for the younger children. If he likes to make things, perhaps he could have his own workshop. If you have alot of land aven something like a small beach volley ball court or soccer goal at one end of the back yard. Cricket pitch is another idea.
