HistoryThe letter L is derived from the Phoenician crook or goad which stood for /l/. This originally may have been based on an Egyptian hieroglyph that was adapted by Semites for alphabetic purposes. Before the show you need to make sure he has a good, neat bridle path (the bit of the mane where the bridle/halter goes). DON'T ever cut the forelock... I learnt that the hard way. Make sure the tail is cut so the ends are at an even length (don't completely chop it off but whispy stringy bits of tail don't count). About a week before the show, with a razor, shave off his whiskers (if he's never had it done before don't be worried if he's a bit weird about eating, it's just cause he can no longer feel for his food, it took my horse half an hour to get over it). Chop off any beard he has (my horse grows a beard lol), cut all ear fluff out if he'll let you. Don't start if he's not gunna let you finish, that just looks funny lol.
